'09 Spring CookoutIt was a dark and stormy night, with rain pouring down and lighting fladhing all around. This is the way a lot of thillers start out, anyway. Saturday night with thuderstorms and the promise of rain on Sunday make for a frightening day. Sunday morning arrived and slowly the rain left and by Sunday afternoon it has stopped, still overcast. A large group from the General Greene Chapter gathered at John and Peggy Burton's home in Reidsville, NC for the annual Cookout and the May Meeting. The antique cars decided to stay hoome because of the weather, but we got to tour John's display and his antique cars and clocks. The meal was, as always, very delicious and filling. A very short meeting took place and the talk about the upcoming car show in August. Can you believe it, only a couple of months before our car show in August? Before, during and after the dinner there was plenty of car talk and visiting. If you didn't make it you missed out on a great time. Time keeps moving an and all too soon it was time to depart. A round of applause and a big thank you to John and Peggy Burton. |
