The club’s Christmas Party was the highlight for December. Hope all had a good and safe holiday. Our monthly meetings have moved back to Parker’s BBQ same time each month, third Thursday. Our Drive-in’s start back up in April the fourth Thursday at Bojangles on HWY 264 & MLK Blvd in Greenville just waiting for warmer weather.
Our Annual show is set for June 15 on the Washington Waterfront will try to beat last years number of 112 cars and trucks. Last year the weather was just right must be why we had a good turn out or maybe it was our food and smiling faces.
Some of our members are getting geared up for the NC Region Spring meet in Beulaville in April. Glad to have back east of Raleigh again this year.
Drive safe.

Our fall cook out has come and gone with a full house being there, steaks were the order of the day,48 members came on a cool fall afternoon. Thanks goes to all who helped getting it together. Our trip to Selma for a Christmas show at the Ruby Theater was a high light for the month of November, 38 seats were filled by our club members. Most of the old cars stayed home but we did get five on the road. My 1953 Buick made the trip without any problems but I did notice my rear shocks do have a little more bounce than needed. I didn’t get that smooth Buick ride that we read about.
In November we lost one of our friends and club member, Frank Garrod one of our active leaders

The 44th annual Coastal Plains Chapter ended with a beautiful day along the waterfront in Washington, with 112 cars lined up on the street. Best of show went to Sean Wright from Sneads Ferry, with his 1936 Rolls-Royce sedan. This is a true European classic. I would like to thank all those who supported and those which made the trip down east to make this show our best so far. Plenty of food, snacks and cookies were supplied, making it a memorable day. Some of the fi nest automobiles ever produced were on display.
Friday nights and Saturday cruiseins are still happening around our area. A few 4th of July shows were attended by some member’s hot dogs, apple pie and fireworks.
Looks like gas prices have come down some. Remember when in 1987
gas on the average was $1.19 and a first-class stamp was 22 cents. Our 66 Mustang gets 23 mpg now, which isn’t bad for a 46 year old auto.
We showed our support at the First Capital Chapter in New Bern show in May with five members. Check out their web site for great photos.
It’s amazing, anywhere you go in an old car, people talk to you while filling up at the gas pump, at red lights or just waving with open eyes. So get on the open road and wave back.
Memories that endure all of us car folks at one time or other had a car maybe in high school and maybe it was our fi rst auto that we could roll up our sleeves and turn our wrenches. Mine was a 52 Chevy. Whenever I see one at a show or cruise-in I get that memory flash back…. Drive safe.

Things have slowed down a bit this time of the year weekend cruises being less. Our club members do attend the Bath Christmas parade in December with about 10 cars from the club. Our fall cookout is on for the 20th of October which will be before you get the newsletter. The club again is planning a trip over to Selma for a Christmas show at the Rudy Theater on November 24th, and some afternoon shopping is planned.
We still have several members working on some cars. Willie Wallace 35 Plymouth, Danny McLawhorn 65 Mustang, Stan Hudson 1908 Buick. Charles Bright has just finished a 65 Mustang Fastback and is ready to cruise. The 1908 Buick belongs to Charles Bright and Stan is doing some repair work for him.
The winter months makes for a good chance to visit other clubs in the region with good food and lots of friendship. Drive safe.
