Thanl you for visiting this site. Please bear with me as I get everything switched from the old site to here, and get things updated. I'm trying to do this as quickly as possible but my life has been touched by cancer. I've been spending a lot of time with my girlfriend as her mom goes through treatments.

This is now implemented by inserting a Read more... tag (the button is located below the editor area) a dotted line appears in the edited text showing the split location for the Read more.... A new Plugin takes care of the rest.

It is worth mentioning that this does not have a negative effect on migrated data from older sites. The new implementation is fully backward compatible.

The Catawba Valley is located NorthWest of Charlotte, North Carolina near Hickory.  It includes the counties of Catawba, Lincoln, Iredell, Alexander, Caldwell and others along the Catawba River.   Cities in the area include Hickory, Newton, Conover, Statesville, Lenoir, Morganton, Lincolnton, Catawba, Hudson and many other nice small towns. The mild climate is ideal for enjoying the old car hobby year round.

The Catawba Valley Chapter is a non-profit group of local old-car nuts. We began in January of 2001. We are here for fellowship and to be a positive group in our community. We are non-violent, non-substance users, and family oriented. We are affiliated with the AACA and are a Chapter of the NC Region. The N.C. Region is one of the oldest AACA regions in the country and the AACA was formed in 1936.

Vehicles manufactured 25 years from the current date or older are welcome.  All brands of cars trucks and motorcycles are welcome.  Vehicles should appear original.  Condition is not that important.  You must be a national AACA member and a NC Region Member in order to be a member of this chapter.

You don't need to own a vehicle to join, interest alone is enough.   Everything is family oriented.  All brands of old vehicles are welcome -- Foreign and American.  We like unusual stuff.   We are interested in taking car clubs a step further by making an effort to bring local enthusiasts with this common interest together for mutual enjoyment, fellowship and fun. Other old-car nuts are welcome to join us. We now have our own Drive-In Theater!

We are interested in preserving history. Many of our members have great expertise in restoration. We believe these old cars are an art form to be appreciated and preserved for future generations. Come visit us and you will find a friendly, family-oriented group who would love to share old-car stories and knowledge.  If you have a restoration project underway or just want to learn more about how to restore it correctly, pay us a visit and we'll be glad to talk. We have a President, Vice-President, Secretary and Treasurer.

We are also interested in helping out other non-profit organizations in the Catawba Valley, such as churches and rest homes. In the future, we will plan cruises to these types of places to share our old cars with them for fellowship. We also participate in local parades, car shows and other activities. We will cruise to local diners and other activities just for fun. We also plan to have cookouts at members' homes and junkyard trips.  Other local clubs are invited to contact and meet us.

For more info, contact David Clark 828-256-7240.

If you would like to join us, CLICK HERE, you must be a member of both the National AACA and NC Region.  You can link from our page to each of them to get an application form.

If you are interested in making a donation or sponsoring an event, please contact us.  If you have an antique vehicle in need of rescue or in need of a new home in order to be preserved, please contact us.  Thank You!
